How to get Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Updates ?

Hi All,

I have two instances of D365 CE. One instance was installed on January 2018. Another instance was installed on has May 2018. Both the instance show version as version 1612(9.0.2.761)(DB 9.0.2.761)online [Setting-> About].

However, there are different versions of solutions that got imported. The instance that was set up in Jan 2018 has old versions of all the solution.

Even one solution "Unified Resource Scheduling Patch" was missing. If I go to the Updates Schedule https://port.crm.dynamics.com/G/UpgradeSchedule/index.aspx, I don't see any option od schedule updates.

How do I update my instance ?

Regards,

Rameshwari

    Thanks for the reply Ravi!

    1. PSA is installed on both the systems. However, I don't see the Unified Resource Scheduling -Patch installed on the desired system.

    2. Instance doesn't have any schedule update option. The PSA application is installed. However, I don't see any upgrade/update option for PSA application.

However, the instance doesn't have upgrade/update option. I need to somehow update the instance.

    Regards,

    Rameshwari

Just found that "Unified Resource Scheduling" is a part of PSA (Project Service Automation. If this solution is installed on one instance but not on second one that this means that the PSA is not installed on that instance. To get these managed solution, you need to install PSA.

If you have PSA installed on bith the instance but one instance is showing old version then you need to update th esolution.

    1) Login to O365 Portal >> Dynamics 365 admin center.

    2) Select the instance you need to update. On the right hand side, click on the litle icon next to solution. This will open the solutions winstalled on that insance..

    3) You need to see if this list is showing upgrade available, if yes then you need to update it.

You can refer the above link I shared (ignore the portal part, just refer it and update for Project Service Automation)

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Rameshwari,

The Portal solution as just an example. Can you share a screenshot of the solution you are talking about. That will help figure out how you need to update it.

Thanks Ravi Kashyap! However, none of the instances have portals configured.

I understand that solutions version will remain the same. But how do we update the solutions. It doesn't show any scheduled updates options ? I don't even see any upgrade options for any applications.

Since Unified Resource Scheduling is a managed solution, I can't even import the solution.

Request help in upgrading the instance.

Note: The instance which I am trying to upgrade is a sandbox instance

    Regards,

    Rameshwari

    HI Rameshwari,

Both of your Dynamcis 365 instance are up to date. The solutions version is different than Dynamics 365 instance. Yo update the solutions, you need to update the related application. For example, if you have installed Portals, you need to update the portal solution from admin console. You can refer the below blog which has the screenshot on how to update the portal solution. This is applicable to any application/ solution you have installed in your system from admin console.

    community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-365-customer-engagement-portals-solution-update

If you have installed any third party solution like ribbon workbench, rest builder or something else, you need to install the download/ install the updated version from the main source website/ vendor.

    Hope this helps.
