Intrastat reporting (in Germany) BC 24.3

ReportReport

Hello,

We are using BC 24.3, and we have Intrastat DE 24.3 and Intrastat Core 24.3 installed.
I created a test file (XML) for Intrastat reporting in Business Central and submitted it.
We then received feedback about what still needs to be corrected.
One error was: No invoice amount is to be specified for the type of transaction used. Please check the type of transaction used and the reported invoice amount.
I posted a sales credit note with type of transaction 21, in this case no invoice amount is to be specified, but the statistical value in euros is to be specified.
In BC on the Intrastat report card (Page: 4812) I clicked on Suggest lines, then the line was created and the invoice amount was also entered.
I was wondering whether I should add a button to the Intrastat report card.
For example: If type of transaction = 21,22,..., then clear the amount column, but in this case the statistical value column will also be cleared, which would also be wrong.
The XML file is created using the data exchange definitions, can we filter it, and if so, how?
Actually, this should all be standard, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or overlooking something.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you in advance.

Regards
Mo

Intrastat reporting (in Germany) BC 24.3

    Hello,

Thank you for your detailed explanation.

The issue you're encountering—where an invoice amount is incorrectly included for transaction type 21 in the Intrastat XML file—is related to how Business Central handles Intrastat reporting logic for specific transaction types. According to German Intrastat requirements, for transaction types such as 21 (returns), the invoice amount should not be reported, but the statistical value must still be included.

    Recommendations:

    1. Review Data Exchange Definitions
Since the XML file is generated via Data Exchange Definitions, you can apply filters or transformation rules to exclude the invoice amount for specific transaction types. This may require:

      • Customizing the mapping logic.
      • Adding conditional filters based on the transaction type.
    2. Avoid Clearing Statistical Value
If you implement a button or logic to clear the invoice amount on the Intrastat report card, ensure that it does not also clear the statistical value, as this would violate reporting requirements. You may need to separate the logic for each field.

    3. Custom Field Handling via AL Code
If standard functionality does not support this behavior, consider a custom AL extension that:

      • Detects transaction types 21, 22, etc.
      • Clears only the invoice amount field.
      • Preserves or recalculates the statistical value as needed.
    4. Consult Localization Documentation
Review the German localization documentation for Intrastat reporting in BC 24.3 to confirm the expected behavior for each transaction type. Microsoft may have provided guidance or updates specific to this version.

    5. Feedback to Microsoft
If this behavior is not aligned with standard requirements, consider submitting feedback or a support request to Microsoft, as it may require a correction in the localization package.

Please verify if this response was helpful.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
most likely Intrastat Core is generating the journal lines, and is generating all fields there for the needs also for other countries.
You should check just the reporting (export to XML file).. could be there is a setup somewhere (either when running report, or maybe in Intrastat Setup page) that can change the behavior of the Amounts provided based on transaction type.

If different reporting has to be done based on transaction types, would be logical if in the Transaction Type list there would be a checkmark if this transaction type should or should not show amount/statistical amount only...
