I'm looking for options to configure BC in a sorting and recycling facility usage.
we receive scrap and we sort this scrap to create ballots (final products)
here the point:
we don't know in advance the type of ballot we will produce, this could be a mix of plastic or glasses or paper etc...
and more than this, we don't know the final quality.
so how to manage our inventory to have an idea of the cost of the ballots when we don't know in advance the type of ballots?
but only after the /production process/.
for example, we receive 10tons of scrap to sort and recycle (10$ / ton), we send this scrap through sorting machines, this sort the scrap and produces 5 ballots of plastic, 3 of metal and 2 of papers. and I know this only after the sorting process, not before.
so how to setup BC to handle this?
how can I have a work order (maybe) with an unknown result?
more than this, after a ballot was created, the QA team can analyse the content and decide to change the content of the ballot, for example, we anticipated to have 80% of paper and 20% of plastic in 1 ballot, but finally it's 70 / 30. this impact the quality of the ballot (and it's value)
It's like I have to start the /work order/ after I know the result of this work order.
also, I know that to produce 1 ballot of paper the scrap goes through a specific machine which has a specific cost vs the metal one (and vs another older machine).
so I want to know this cost.
I'm not sure if I'm clear, but for now I don't know how I can manage this in BC.
