Import Complete Set up Security Development Tools

Dear All,

I want to ask about security development tools,

I know that we could import / load the recording at security development tools,

my question is :  once load the recording has been  imported to newly roles, later the access class for new roles/priviledges has been set up, it is doable to export the setting we have done ?

i'm planning to create new roles at demo environment, then load recording from my file. once done, I will set access level for each recording.

once setting has completed, after got confirmation from my user, I'm planning to export the setting so I don't need to setting again at my Live-environment.

is this doable ?

or we just only able to import/ load recording only  ?

    Hi Benjamin,

    All security settings will result in changes to the AOT. So all added and changed roles are in the AOT in a model. You can export the model or the object as xpo file to move them to another environment.

    Your request above is somewhat unclear.

    Security objects are in the AX Application Object Tree (AOT) > Security node, so any changes you are doing are actual AOT modifications which you could simply export.

    If you are talking about assigning security rights to specific users, those are stored within tables. You could find examples on this forum and blogs about how to move those around.

    Hi Vilmos,

    yup, sorry if its not clear.

    what I mean is,

    we could load recording file, but the load recording file is raw setting right ?

    the access class for each menu and sub menu not setted yet.

    so I must set the access class first for each menu/sub menu. once done => lets call this authorization.

    I want to be able to export and import the authorization from 1 envirotment to another.

    based on Andre information, its doable , I must access from AOT.

    would be nice, if I could get confirmation from you too about my question.

    You can create project with all customization roles ,duties, privileges,,,and so on

    After that export this project from test to live environment.

    If you use load /import recording option in security development tool,you need to create your roles and privileges again
