Dear

I am trying to setup fixed assets to run a disposal Scrape

my aim is to find out what is the Resulting Financial Entry

i went to the fixed asset journal and selected type DISPOSAL but that would mean that i have to put in the debit/credit amount manually , when you do scape disposal i shouldn't have to put in the amount myself

    Hi Silvano and Ahmed Mahmoud,

If you want to scrap a fixed asset then just select the transaction type for scrapping the fixed asset, select the fixed asset and post the journal.

AX will take care of the current net book value and the related postings and you do not have to enter an amount.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig,

    thanks for your answer.

However with me it is not working smoothly at all via disposal scrap proposal in FA journal where it is not getting any data from the posting profile (only FA name and code) no value is showed there and no offset accounts are read from the posting.

    DE.PNG.

i made the posting for scrap as attached.

and i made acquisition of 120,000 and make depreciation of 22,500 for an item successfully and the net book value is updated to 97,500 however i cant make disposal scrap successfully at all please check attached setup and posting profiles for Disposal scrap .

Below are posting for Acquisition and depreciation with are working fine via proposals:

Please review and suggest a solution for me.

    Hi Ahmed Mahmoud,

What account(s) have you Setup in the 'disposal-scrap' section?

There seems to be a setup missing because the offset account does not default.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Net book value"  main account "Fixed Asset Cost " account and offset account "Fixed Asset Gain and Loss account

Depreciation (prior years)" main account "Accumulated Depreciation",  and "Fixed Asset Cost - " account under offset account

Depreciation (this year)"  main account "Accumulated Depreciation " and "Fixed Asset Cost " account under offset account

Acquisition main account is Fixed Asset Cost " account and offset is Fixed Asset Gain and Loss account

    Hi Ahmed Mahmoud,

Please have a look at the following sample setup and compare it with your setup

    dynamicsaxfico.files.wordpress.com/.../en_40_anhang_0055.png

Those screenprints are posted with the following blog post

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Hi Ahmed, go to Fixed Assets > Setup > Parameters and check whether you have specified the posting profile there or not.

    thanks to all.

i reconfigured the posting for scrap to include only net book value, depreciation prior years and current year and it worked as desired.

however, now we have another scenario where we want to sale the asset to or employee (not customers) how can we do this??

    Hi Ahmed Mahmoud,

You have to make a setup similar to the one that you have to scrapping the fixed assets. Please take a look at the links I provided. In addition, you can check the contoso companies that have some default settings available you can take a look at.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
