Sales Insights Settings configuration for custom security role

Hello folks,

I would like to create a new security role that is supposed to allow access to sequences and assignment rules. The standard Sequence Manager role doesn't give access to Sales Insight Settings and we don't want to grant users System Admin role. What do I need to configure in the role in order for my users to be able to access sales insights settings in Sales Hub? I've been trying it with various settings in a demo instance but can't seem to find the correct setting.

Thanks for help!

    Hi VeronikaH,

Based on Microsoft documentation, only users who was assigned 'System Administrator' security role can access the 'sales insights settings' area.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales/intro-admin-guide-sales-insights

Moreover, there is no specific privilege controlling Sales Insight settings in Security Roles

Maybe you can try to copy 'System Administrator' security role to create one new, then remove other privileges that you don't want.

    Hi Leah,

thanks for the answer. Microsoft documentation also says that in order to create and manage sequences and assignment rules, user only needs the sequence manager role. Basically, I'm searching for a role that would allow me to do exactly what the description says, since I'm not sure which settings to add/remove, copying the system admin role and removing privileges would not solve it because once I remove all I don't need, I'm back to not seeing it.

    Hi VeronikaH,

You can create and manage sequences and assignment rules through navigating to 'Personal Settings' area if users have sequence manager role.

    Hi Leah,

sadly, I'm not able to see this area. My user has the Sales Enterprise app access and Sequence Manager security role, Sales Accelerator is enabled for both System Admin and Sequence Manager role.

    Can you maybe help?

    Thanks.

    Hi Veronika,

To administer and install Sales insight you must have the system administrator system as mentioned in this link

Can you try with the system administrator security role and tell us if the issue is resolved ?

    Hi Mohamed,

I'm trying to give access to a user that is not supposed to be System Admin, but they need to be able to access Sequences. The error doesn't occur when the user has Sales Enterprise app access, Basic User and Sequence Manager roles.

    Regards

    Veronika
