Business event not visible in PowerAutomate unless in new category

Hi All,

The first time this happened, I thought it was some weird glitch. But it happened again and I have no clue...

Situation:
D365FO V44 (first time was V43)
UDE Dev environment
Dual write enabled
System admin in all environments

I created a new Business event. This business event shows up in the Business event catalog:

.

When checking PowerAutomate:

As you can see: the AP category exists twice. Doesn't matter which of the two I choose:

The new Business event is not there.

I move it to another (not used) category:

And now it is visible in PowerAutomate:

The double category is also gone:

Anyone ever seen this behavior before ?

Any idea how to fix this ?

Thanks !
Gerard

That's a first for me, but again I have never been lucky with UDE environments.
My bet is that it's some kind of weird cache issue. Have you tried flusing the AOD cache?

Business Events should be fairly straightforward to implement, this is an example of what it could look like: https://github.com/jofme/D365FinanceToolbox/blob/dev/Metadata/FinanceToolbox/FinanceToolbox/AxClass/FTBXBatchJobBusinessEventDurationEvent.xml

try to delete the trigger and re-create it each time it doesn't work as expected.

    Hi,

I had different issues after a database copy, where the business event that worked just before the copy didnt work afterwards. The endpoint was messed up. The solution was to create a new flow and it worked.
So,  I would try to delete the trigger and if that doesnt work, try to create a new flow just to check if it resolves.

Side question: Did you try using a dataverse connection instead of the Fin&Ops connector?

    Kind regards, Adis

    HI All,

Thanks for your time and answers.

I tried both the Dataverse and FinOps connections. Both with the same result.
I also created a new flow from scratch.
    Cleared caches etc.

    But nothing is working.

I will create a ticket at Microsoft and get back here when I have the answer.

    Cheers,
    Gerard

Short update: Just had a call with MS. No solution yet though and they're still working on it. I'll keep you posted.

After some sessions with MS, the cause is still not clear. As this is taking a lot of time (and the issue is relatively small), we decided to let it go with this comment from the MS side:

Reason of closure: This function is limited to some categories. The D365FO team is aware and will improve this functionality in the future.

    Cheers,
    Gerard
