Hi All,

I have a situation where I need to pick up flat files from ftp server and populate GP tables. The process I am following is that I will create an SSIS package and poll the ftp server and insert the data into some temporary tables. I will mainly be updating the PO receipts tables. Now the problem is I cannot directly update or insert records into the GP tables, I have to use eConnect. I understand eConnect has business objects that can be used for this purpose. I am kind of lost or not able to think how eConnect will fit into this situation. Is there any step by step procedure or link that I can follow. That SSIS package would be a schedule activity.

if anyone can explain the working process of dynamically updating GP tables using eConnect and SSIS package, it would be of great help.

Hi Pankaj,

I know this post is old, but if your looking at populate data into Dynamics GP from within SSIS you can look at the Dynamics GP SSIS Toolkit available from Keelio Software.

It allows you to take a flat file and convert it to eConnect XML (which is pretty straight forward and documented in great detail on MSDN).
