Service management dispatch board

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Anyone else had problems with the service management dispatch board? I have gone over and over my config and activity setup and it all looks correct but then I launch the form and get the attached message and there is no info in the board at all

IF you tick those boxes, Ax requires all these activity type of lines while Posting Service order lines. Service order appearing to dispatch board, has nothing in common with those tick boxes. Appearing to disp.board requires 1 Service order needs to be "in works"2 preferred tech must be attached to disp.team 3. SO line transaction type must be of type "Hour" ??? ( not expense, item, fee) 4. Service calendar must be chosen in setup and being of proper type

Hi I figured it out in the end. For anyone else having the same issues if you are using Service management in conjunction with the Projects module you need to make sure these settings are ticked so that the activity is triggered for the Dispatch board

Hi, Probably test that in a demo environment. I am not sure if it makes a difference because the dispatch board is not directly linked to the project module functions. Yet, I believe it is worth giving it a trial. Ludwig

I've checked everything above - does it make any difference that I am linking service orders to projects? Maybe I need to set up the service order tasks as project activities?

    Hi AX2012 Consultant,

Can you check whether you setup the following:

    - sales activity types

    - dispatch teams (=> need to be assigned to your employees in the HR module)

    - dispatching parameters in the Service Management parameters form

    - activities Parameters in the Service Management Parameters form => you have to make sure that they are created depending on the stage

    - Service order lines with activities created

Once you move your service orders to the correct stage where activities are automatically created you should see them in the dispatch board.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig
