Container checker

Evening All,

I was wondering if anyone has experience of configuring container check on warehouse mode to work on the handheld scanners?

To clarify what i mean by container checker- The ability to Scan an LPN (pick or pallet), view the contents and scan the contents to confirm that they are correct? A report would need to be displayed at the end to verify 100% correct or display any variances to be checked.

My assumption would be that this would be possible but wanted to know if anyone has experience of implementing this with config.
I have the same question (0)

Configuring a container checker in warehouse mode to work on handheld scanners is indeed possible, and it can be achieved by leveraging the capabilities of Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management -

    Steps to Configure Container Checker:
    1. Set Up Mobile Device Menu Items:
      • Navigate to Warehouse Management > Setup > Mobile Device > Mobile Device Menu Items.
      • Create a new menu item with the Mode set to Indirect for inquiries or Work for processing tasks.
      • Select the appropriate Activity Code (e.g., License Plate Inquiry) to enable scanning and viewing container contents.
    2. Enable License Plate Scanning:
      • Ensure that the warehouse is configured for License Plate Control.
      • Use the License Plate Inquiry activity to scan an LPN (License Plate Number) and display its contents.
    3. Configure Work Confirmation:
      • Set up Work Confirmation policies to require scanning of individual items within the container.
      • This ensures that each item is verified against the expected contents.
    4. Generate Variance Reports:
      • Use Warehouse Management Reports to display discrepancies between scanned items and expected contents.
      • Configure a custom report or dashboard to summarize variances for review.
    5. Test on Handheld Scanners:
      • Deploy the configuration to handheld devices and test the workflow.
      • Ensure that the handheld scanners are properly connected to the system and can process the configured menu items.
    6. Customize as Needed:
      • If additional functionality is required, consider extending the system using custom code or integrations.
      • For example, you can create a custom workflow to handle specific business requirements.

    Hope this helps some!
