Importing Serialized Inventory Issues: The lot number you entered already exists for this item. Please enter a new one.

When I try to import inventory issues with lot serial numbers, all fields import correctly into inventory Issue screen except for the lot serial number.

With the simple import file I get the message 

"The lot number you entered already exists for this item. Please enter a new one" does not make sense as one should only be able to issue serialized items that exist?
I get the same error with both simple and intelligent imports, even when importing in edit mode only.

When I enter the same information into the Issue screen, it goes through without a problem.

When I try to import the issue of a inventory item without a serial number in the system, it throws the error 

"The lot number does not exist.............."

It is as if the serial number import sees the transaction as a receipt and not an Issue?

I have spent many hours on this issue now and I would appreciate it if someone could let me know if they have imported inventory issues with serial numbers successfully or if this is an unsolvable issue.

    Hi, I have spent another few hours on trying to get this right.

    I will appreciate it if someone could maybe tell me if they imported inventory issues with lot serial numbers successfully or if this is an unsolvable issue.

    Coen,

    I am sorry your question has not been answered. I found that there is a bug for this feature in SL Issues, Receipts and Adjustments screens. The bug for the Issues screen is 27572. Please let me know if you are still struggling with this issue or if you were able to find a workaround.
