Dev/Sys/Ops here. (I know almost nothing on the Finance side.) My number one pain point / question, is how to export/import configuration items (Batch Jobs, Journals, Financial Dimensions (!), etc.). Is there an API or CLI we can use? Powershell module? Currently they (the devs) are manually creating things environment-by-environment as code is promoted, then having handing SysOps a document on what changes to make after deploying code/solutions in the higher environments, which is madness. (We are currently on an older version, on-prem, though upgrade and cloud migration is planned.)
That's really a subset of the larger question: Where are the quick-start guides/documents that explain the higher-level concepts. Is there a singular top-level admin account, or is it just the whoever ran the installer? Is there any difference between that and anyone granted the System Administrator role? Etc.
