Users can't close activities from checkbox at timeline. Is there an extra setting/or role to be able to do this? Me as an admin can close activities from this checkbox.

can you please check activity entity access for the user?
Users can close activities from activity form, but we want them to be able to close it from the checkbox in timeline also.
Which security roles user have ? like salesperson, sales manager and What is update and read access level?
User have a custom role. A screenshot above with the access level:
Does it work when you use system admin role ??
If yes, then try to open the developer tool on your browser and perform the same operation with custom role and check Network tab for the exact error
I tried the approach you mentioned and there is nothing on Network tab for this error. Yes, it works with admin role, the popup window appears on users with the custom role posted above.
Can please check any custom logic you have on task like workflow, script etc?
May be any custom logic restricting the action
