Hi All,
I would like to find a way to have the suggested sales item window open after tabbing off the item regardless of the choice selected quantity shortage window. Ideally this would provide the CSR a more convenient way to suggest alternative items as well as provide an opportunity to suggest complimentary items. Has anyone found a way to make this work?

I would like to the know the eConnect class type and the properties that are required to pass the items into the "Suggest Sales Item Entry" window using eConnect as I am tried with the different eConnect class types but the properties for mapping into them are not available, if you people have any idea regarding that can help me out.

Thank you again for your responses. I was hoping to use this functionality to provide a more convenient way to offer the customer alternative items as well as a tool to help in upselling.
Any other thoughts about the best way to quickly provide alternative items to my CSRs? It seems like a cumbersome process to use the Substitute #1, Substitute #2 and then have to look up the item description and verify stock availiblity prior to suggesting the item to the customer.

To me. regardless of the fact that it is a 1% or larger percentage on back order, A back order is simply against the logic of Suggested Sales Items. Therefore, this will not be supported through the out of the box functionality of Dynamics GP.
There could be a space though for customized solutions which might be a valid thought to be considered in your case.
I still hope that other community members might have an added value on this issue.

I read your previous post but was thinking you were referring to the Sales Document itself. Our order entry process 99% of the time is to enter an order, fill the available items, transfer the remaining items to a back order, transfer the order to an invoice an post. I was hoping that because we are always entering the item on orders there might be a way to force the Suggested Sales Items window to still open after selecting back order all or back order balance from the Sales QTY Shortage window.
Please let me know if you have any other thoughts.

The Suggested Sales Items feature doesn't work with both Back orders and Returns.
I do believe this is against the logic of "Suggested Sales Items", this is called "Up selling", which in definition is a strategy in which the seller proposes other products or services during the sales transaction which could be one of the following (Quote, Order, Invoice and Fulfillment Order). How could you suggest items with a back order or return ! Therefore, only these four document types are supported.
I hope somebody else in the community would have a different useful conception on this topic.
