Display Documents in Subgrid on Form

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello - does anybody know if the solution to display associated documents in an iframe (as documented here a couple of years ago) still works with later versions of Dynamics?  I have tried to implement it in our environment but my on load event continually produces either a blank screen or an error message...

We are using Dynamics 365 online V9

If this solution is no longer applicable to later CRM versions, is there an alternative??  I didn't think something so seemingly simple as rolling up the documents associated view could prove so frustrating!

Thanks for any advice :-)

If you open the record, go to click on the Related dropdown and you should see the documents tab in there

Hi, thanks for the heads-up, we are using UCI so that's helpful to know.  Where do I find the OOB documents tab though?  Our forms have been heavily customised so this may have been removed - I can't see any way of navigating to Documents without leaving the form and opening child records...

    Thanks again

    Hi

I have implemented the same on V9 classic UI and I can confirm it works as long as the Sharepoint - CRM integration is working correctly.

However the same did not work on UCI and I have not spent much time getting it working on UCI because the out of the box documents tab on UCI is rendering really fast so adding an Iframe based grid will slow things down and I managed to convince the customer to stick with OOB documents tab for UCI.

    Hope this helps
