Under one environment Consume materials from different company

Hi

We have two companies under one environment (lets call it company A and B). Company A and B each have their own sales and MFG process. They create Production Order from Sales Order since each production order has more than one items. But sometimes company A ask Company B to produce the item for them and send it to them. This item already has production order in company B.

Now I wonder how company B can consume materials in company A?

I thought to create a new location in company B then use that in production order and setup that location to replenishment from IC. But that create Purchase Order then create sales order on other company and all is manual here. Unless I am missing something here.

Any other method here?
I have the same question (0)

Hi, as far as I know, there is no easy way. Unless you do some customization.
If you are using the latest version of BC, you can try the following new features.
Set up and sync master data across companies (Master data management)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

You are right, you can handle that by IC Transactions. You can turn on "Auto Accept Transactions" settings on IC Transactions so it will create SO/PO for you and then all you have to do is post them. The approach to do it via IC is the way to go forward. If you are expecting more from the system, suggest you to get into a customization
