GP2016 Workflow Delegation issue with PO Requisitions

Our customer has had GP since I believe GP7.  They were using BP for Requisitions.  When upgrading to GP2016 they lost BP and now use GP workflow for Req's.  They have over 100 ESS Req users and probably a dozen full users just for the purchasing side.  Their req module is very busy every day.

That being said they have some questions now that they have been using REQ workflow specific to delegating:

1) Some full users can click on User Preferences but do not see the Workflow Delegation button.

2) When requisitions are delegated via the approvers home page, email or navigation list, the delegate does receive the email but cannot get to the REQ to look at it before approving.  They can only see REQ's they are the approver on, but not any that were delegated for them to approve.  They need to see these.  How can the delegated REQ's be added to the navigation list for this full user?  They only have permission to see their own REQ's, not everyone's.  But they do see REQ's that they are the approver on, but not the delegated ones.

3) Since they have 100+ ESS REQ users, and about 40 are also approvers, how can ESS/limited users delegate when they go on vacation?  They know how to delegate a one-off REQ via email, etc.  But limited users do not have permission to the User Preferences window.  How do you work around this.  This part is very tedious for the purchasing staff when an approver is out sick or vacation or at a conference, etc.  What is the best method for limited users to delegate for periods of time and not singly?

I tried searching on PartnerSource and the boards and the internet in general and could not find answers to these questions.  Any guidance is greatly appreciated!!!

    Hi Althea:

Some of these sound like permissions issues, but can be any number of things and without specific error messages, etc it's very difficult to troubleshoot over a forum.

With that said, here is a link to a great list of resources for setting up Workflow in GP - you are looking at an incredibly difficult workflow setup and, just FYI, the out-of-the-box GP workflow might not be enough.

Any one reading these new boards/forums from Microsoft?  Just checking in again. Customer is asking status.  Thanks!

Is anyone able to give me advice on this issue?  Not sure if these new forum pages work as well as the old partner boards....
