Trying to create package -> No custom extension packages are available?

I'm trying to create a package and following the documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/deployment/create-apply-deployable-package

However no matter what I try the deploy wizard is always empty. At the bottom it says " No custom extension packages are available"

I have tried to extend existing models, create new models, etc... every time it's blank. I did find some other advice on the forum here... however I am running into a 2nd issue when I try to 'Update model parameters'. It tells me "Access to path" is denied, however I am running Visual Studio as an admin. Can anyone provide me pointers?

    Hi Tayapr,

You asked the same question a week before. Why are you creating a new question instead of updating the existing one if your question had not been solved yet? community.dynamics.com/.../issue-with-creating-a-new-deployable-package-no-custom-extension-packages-are-available

Related to your issues: This is because it seems like you still are trying to update existing models. Create a full new model and select the option "Create a new package".

This has already been explained to you. Please take some time to read and think about the answers that are provided, it will save your time. Instead of asking the same question many times.

I wrote in your previous question (the link above):

"You must create your own package and model and do your customizations there."

Hi, is your problem solved? Could you give an update and mark the helpful answer(s) as verified. This way the status of the question changes to Answered and others can find help easier.

"You must create your own package and model and do your customizations there." -> As new user of FinOps these instructions were not remotely clear to me at the time and confused me more. I used to customize CRM environments and this is a whole different ball game. I am still learning how this thing works (and the taxonomy of the system)- and I've been following tutorials from all over the net trying to do something I perceived as very simple from the outset.  I actually got a book this week which has helped the most more than anything else (also learning the history of the system and changes over the past few versions).  Anyways I marked the first one as answered, and I will mark this one as well. I submitted 2nd time hoping someone would have a clearer answer that I, a newb, could understand.  I don't get all the jargon yet.

Thanks for the update. I agree that the documentation can sometimes be confusing. One reason is that the development possibilities of D365FO have changed a lot since the initial release of "AX7". So you might find articles and blog posts that are no longer valid. Also developing foe D365FO is definetely more complex than for CRM/CE.

Everyone's a beginner at the beginning, you have clearly already learned a lot!
