Materials in Progress report not removing Reported as finished quantities

AX2012 CU12

Please assist with a question about the Materials in Progress report.

On the BOM, we have some forward flushed and some back flushed items.  When the Production order is Started, the forward flushed items are displayed in the Materials in Progress report, which corresponds correctly to the WIP account in the GL.

When the order is partially Reported as finished, the

1. Quantity of the forward flushed items that were Reported as finished are not removed from the report.

2. Quantity of back flushed items that were Reported as finished are added to the report.

This is causing the Materials in progress report not to balance to the GL, because when we Report as finished, the raw materials are taken out of the WIP account and added to a Finished goods account, because the finished goods are now put into stock and ready to be sold.

Is there any other standard report that can be used to only see raw materials that are actually in WIP?

Are they removed when you complete the entire production and the status of the production order is RAF?

No, if the status is RAF, all the forward flushed and back flushed items are still in the MIP report.  It is only removed once the order is Ended.

Do you post financial and physical inventory on your item model group for the finished item?

Yes, we post physical and financial inventory for the finished good.

Hello, in my opinion, it is normal that forward flushed and back flush items are in the WIP.

My understanding is about the way to calculate the WIP :

WIP (Value) = raw Mat in process + work in process ( + ind cost in process) - finished good in process.

the WIP will be cancelled when you will end the Production order.

    In other words :

    - if you consume exactly what was expected for the report as finished qty, then the WIP value equals to ( Hourray !!).

    - if you consume more or less than what is expected, then you still have WIP value at the stage "Report as finished". It will be cancelled when you will end the Production order.

    Regards,

Yes. Your WIP accounts are not emptied before you do production closing. The costs are asynchronous... You can add and remove WIP after RAF, so it is first when you close they are settled. Anything other would be very uncertain and thus not good data to report on.
