CRM 11 Outlook 2010 32 bit Windows 7 Can't connect

Hi.

I am configuring Outlook 2010 32 bit for CRM Client 2011 on Win 7 64 bit PC.

Getting error: "There is a problem communicating with the MS Dynamics CRM server. The Server might be unavailable."

In error log Crm50ClientConfig I see "Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel".

What causes this issue? I was able to configure client running on XP.

Please help

Have you tried the instructions and troubleshooter on the CRM customer center?

    These troubleshooting steps didn't help.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,

Solved my windows 8 issues by enabling Windows Identity Foundation as a feature.

    Hi,

there might be many reason for this issue.  Is it for CRM online or CRM On-Prem ?

Check the system date and time as per time zone/server, CRM website URL should be in trusted sites, Check windows firewall, antivirus , Live ID sign in assistant , may install Outlook connector pack (one of the component of the windows live essential).

Please provide me more information so that we will guide you in the right direction.

    thanks !

We solved the issue: we had an expired certificate on the server. Upon renewing, we were able to configure the client.

Confusing was the fact that we configure CRM client to connect to "http" address, not to "https". But in the log located in C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\Crm50ClientConfig there was an error "Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'https://..." That gave us a clue about certificate...

Good luck to everyone who has a similar issue.

    Lana
