Show new orders in Google Maps

Hello everybody.

I am having a request that I do not know if it is possible at all.

We are selling wood, and have some trucks driving around and delivering the wood to our customers. During the day we are getting orders in, and we directly type the orders in Navision 2016.

We would like more overview over our orders, and therefore we came to talk about if it is possible to integrate Nav with Google Maps.

At the office we have a big screen on the wall with Google Maps open. Is it possible to get all the open orders in NAV send to Google Maps, so we can see where we have to deliver our products? 

A practical example. A customer call us and place an order, and I register the order in NAV. When I look at Google Maps on our big screen on the wall, I can now see a new pin point with the order we have to deliver. 

Does anybody have experience og ideas how and if that could be solved?

    No worries, let us know how you go :)

    McDuck4, also make sure the refresh data settings in Power BI is often enough for your needs, before going on this path.

    Of course having only one screen to display it may be as easy as refreshing manually from PowerBI Desktop when you view it.

    But see what options work for you between the free PowerBI Desktop, Pro version, Premium

    If you need to access data on a remote server through SQL directly instead of webservices you can also use PowerBI Gateway:

    Thank you a lot, and sorry with the danish. There is a toggle to english in the menubar.

    Hi McDuck4,

    That's a good reference you've got, but I can't read danish. I've seen some videos of that guy though and they're good, it's a good start.

    There are multiple ways you can do it, but what I would do is:

    - get familiar with PowerBI by watching some of those videos here

    - once you are familiar with that, try to create a report and enrich your data with Longitude and Latitude for the Ship to address details that you have on your orders.

    * something like this one here if it's a good one (I haven't downloaded it), you'd need to import it in PowerBI and create a new table https://www.aggdata.com/free/denmark-postal-codes

    - create a relation of 1-many from this table- post code to your Ship to Post code. 

    then create your visualization by using Longitude and Latitude.

    *This is just an example, you may want to use a better source to map the exact address to Lon/Lat, if you can find a better data source online for Denmark addresses.

    Thank you a lot for your reply Robert. We are based in Denmark. I was reading a little bit up on the Power Bi on this link: docs.microsoft.com/.../power-bi-visualization-filled-maps-choropleths.

    I did not knew that the Power Bi could set the markers. Do you have a link for some more description on how to do it, or maybe a tutorial?

    You could do it relatively easily with PowerBI.
