AX 2012 – Full CIL Generation Finishes Instantly, No Output

Hi all,

I’m trying to generate Full CIL in Dynamics AX 2012, but I’m facing an issue.

What I did so far:

Restarted the AOS service.
Cleared XPPIL (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin\XppIL\*).
Restarted the server.
Tried both Incremental and Full CIL generation.

Problem:

When I click “Full CIL”, the process finishes almost instantly.
No output window or log is shown.
Last CIL generation log says CIL generation log not found.

I suspect it might be related to permissions, corrupted cache, or some X++ compilation issue.

Has anyone experienced this? Any tips to force a proper Full CIL generation?

Did it work before? If so, are you aware of any changes?

Or is it a new environment where it never worked? If so, how did you set it up?

Did X++ compilation completed successfully? CIL generation depends on data generated by X++ compiler.

The environment is up-to-date, and Full CIL was successfully generated last night, but now the same process is not working.

The only change I made was adding a single method to one of my inbound services. After this change, Full CIL finishes instantly and the output window does not appear.

X++ compilation seems to complete, but Full CIL does not work properly.

Hi,

You can try to temporarily revert the code changes and see if that solves the problem. If so, it could be something specific in your coding. As we don't know the details of your coding, it is impossible now to tell what is wrong.

Sometimes you end up with

1) recompile whole AOT (use command line with parallel compiling to save time)

2) restart AOS

3) truncate a table named SYSXPPASSEMBLY

4) re-generate the full CIL
