User Installed a new version of Office 365.
I did Windows>Control Panel>Programs and Features>Uninstall and then chose "Repair" option.
That fixed the problem.
Thanks! For me it was because the computer had an incorrectly removed trial version of Office 2016. So I had to delete the 9.6 key.
One of my users had the exact same issue with outlook 2013, the CRM addin was greyed out. I tried every suggestions posted in this forum but none of them worked. Then I tried something very simple and the issues was resolved. This is what I did:
1. Open "Control panel"
2. Click on "Credential Manager"
3. I updated the CRM password from there and also the windows generic credential with the user's current password
4. I closed and launched Outlook and the issue was resolved
That was it! I wish I can post screenshots for you guys to see
This is how I was able to fix the issue with Outlook 2010 and CRM 2011 addin resulting in greyed out buttons.
In this situation the Outlook CRM addin is installed and enabled but when the user opens Outlook and navigates to the CRM tab, all CRM related buttons and actions are greyed out.
This happens when Office 2013 or a component of it (even Project/Visio/Lync) is installed on the user’s PC. As there are some shared components, this mix-match creates an incompatibility with each other.
Firstly, you can check event viewer to see application errors that have been logged regarding the MSCRMAddin load behaviour.
To fix this issue, you must delete the registry key component that Office 2013 installs which breaks the addin on Outlook 2010.
Close Outlook and open regedit.exe and navigate to
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{00062FFF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\
Within that folder you will see “9.4” and “9.5” folders. Right click and export the 9.5 folder to create as a backup then delete it. Only the “9.4” folder should remain as that is the Office 2010 component.
Reopen Outlook and the addin should now be active and loaded properly.
Hey,
I had the smae problem with one of my user.
Config : CRM 2011 / Outlook 2010
Can you check the access and licence type of the user ? (User record in the CRM)

I am using Office Outlook 2013 via Office365, and Lync 2013. I first checked I could communicate with Dynamics via the browser then I did the following:
- Tried disabling the plug-ins and renabling, restarted the computer did the same. With no joy
- Then tried Options, CRM, manage organisations and set up the connection again to the server.
- This seems to have fixed the issue.
- I did get a warning about only having one sync client for CRM in outlook next time I restarted, but clicked OK to the dialogue box and seems all fine
Hi,
Is there any news in how to solov this, I have found out that Lync 2013 Client is the one that is causing my CRM ribbonbar to be greyed out in outlook 2010, if I uninstall Lync 2013 it is okay, but that is not a solution.
Best Regards
Rene
Now . I would suggest you to create a service request with MS Support so that We can deeply look into it.
Thanks.
With big regret I have to say that non of the solutions worked. :( Any other ideas?
I tried to log in with that user on others pc's and it works with no problem. Though the user told me that she had her Office down-graded from 2013 to 2010 before instaling the CRM Dynamics Client. Could this be the problem?
Thanks a lot for all your help again.
Best,
Tiberius Raducan
Did now! Thank you very much, I will let you know if any of the solutions worked.
Kind regards,
