Assembly Orders - Tracking Specification

Hi All,

I am having trouble understanding the Tracking Specification in relation to Assembly Orders.

This customer is using on-prem BC. Another company has done a modification where they added a "Lot No." field to the Assembly Order.

We have been tasked with updating this Lot No. field. The process is basically a power automate flow sends details from an external app into a import table. A codeunit then runs to update the details from that table into the relevant Assembly Order.

The problem we are running into is that the tracking specification table isn't updating. Even when we manually update the field it doesn't seem to be populating the tracking specification table, however the look up states it should be there?

See screenshots below. Any help would be very appreciated.

    Hello,

please check the Reservation Entry table 337.

After you add item tracking lines you will get your reservation entry in this table.
I do not know why is Tracking Specification (336) table specified as table linked with item tracking lines, but 337 is table that will be uploaded when you enter your item tracking.

I must specify that entering item tracking automatically is process where you need to have a lot of attention with generating tracking and validation of BC processes.

It also doesn't make sense to me that another application sends data to BC to generate lot nos., because that should be BC's job if you are using BC for this purposes.

    Greetings
