Hi, everybody.
This is for anyone who lost their Star printer to the windows 10 update today.
Started up the old windows 10 POS today and it spent almost hour waiting for windows 10 to update!
When it was all done, our Star TSP-143 printer didn't work.
So here's the fix:
Completely uninstall your Star software.
Unplug the USB on the printer.
reboot.
After this I had to run the CD again and do a repair and reboot again. Don't ask me why.
Plug in the printer again.
I had to reapply the driver by going to devices and printers, because it was showing as a mystery device.
Oh, I had to go to advanced, the get the printer driver from the CD.
The set up the OPOS over again. Now it is back to normal.
