How should I create a calculated field for Vendor (VendorID):?

Here Vendor is the text (string) and VendorID is the GP field. Final result should be something like "ABC Company (123):". I am trying with string vendor ID and strip Vendor ID but it is not working. Any idea?

    Create a string calculated field of STRIP(Vendor Name) # ( # STRIP(Vendor ID) # )

    Where # is the CAT (concatenate) button.

    and the ( and ) are string constants
