Electronic reporting: Update model that is used in existing format mapping

Hey.

I have an existing report in that is already customized. Now I wanted to add a new field in the model. I've done that and created a new version of this model.

In the model mapping I can see my new field in the model and also map it to the datasource.

Problem is that I cannot figure out how I can get the new model version in my format mapping accept from creating a new format. But this is definitly no possible because the format is already highly customized so that I would need to do all this again.

Is there any possibility that I can update the model version in my existing format mapping?

Btw don't know if it is important but the format is a word template.

Thanks, Hans

    Hello Hans,

Have you rebased your model mapping after you added the new field to the model?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

If you do a format based on your customized format you'll have the option of selecting the new model without losing your current format customization.

You could also change the model in your current format editing it and pointing it to a new one, although sometimes you could have problems this way for example referencing enums of the old model.

    Hey Ludwig.

Thanks for the reply. But the model mapping is not the problem. There I always have the newest model version for mapping.

The problem is in the format mapping. When creating a new format mapping I have to select the model version that it will be based on and later I can see now way of updating it in any way when I needed to make a new model version.

    Hey Arcadi.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I had already recognized that I could derive a new format mapping with the new model version. But this doesn't seem a nice solution because the tree would grow with every iteration over the model.

You mentioned that I could change the model in my current format but I dont't see the way it can be done. Can you give further explanation on this?

    Thanks

Edit the format ("design"), at the right you have the model and other objects, edit the model node and change the reference

That's it. Would have never found this on my own.

    Thank's

Doing a Rebase on the Mapping allowed me to select latest version of the Model. It worked ok for me.

I couldn't find any option from Format Designer to edit Model Reference.
Maybe it is no longer available.

I also tried the @dahirongm suggestion, of rebasing Mapping, but yet i can't see new fields while mapping Format to Model.
