Hi Guys

Does anyone know how can we Schedule Reschedule Production Order jobs as per assigned Priorities in the Priority fields?

Also Rescheduling the Production orders once jobs are in progress? (in case where Production orders are running but we have got some critical order to accomplish first)

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Do you operate D365FO or AX2012?

Irrespective of that, can you share details of your scheduling setup? Especially the resources and priorities that you have set up?

    Some screenprints would be great.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig

    Operating D365FO.

    Please find below:

In route card, we use Job scheduling, which creates the jobs

Priority we mention/edit in the field below: On default it is "0"

    8666.pastedimage1630326557911v3.png

Now the scenario is to Reschuling. If we allow the Rescheduling in Production Status in parameters only, then we can use the given screen:

Here we dont have any option for Priority based scheduling and the option in text is for Resource selection priority not the Production order priority.

So how can we do this? and also dont find any bigger purpose of Production order priority field.

The priority button ( which was in AX 2009) has been removed as you can actually used an advanced filter and schedule by priority ascending and descending.

The priority field is  very useful to sequence the batch or work orders and reschedule forward based on that sequence.

    Hi Alessandro

    Thanks for replying.

You mean i have to manually schedule based on Priorities. e.g I will schedule with higher priority ist and then schedule 2nd then 3rd?

How about Rescheduling? Also on the scenario where current production orders are running but i have to accommodate a new production order coming with very high priority?

I will definitely look into the sequencing feature if it can help in the scenario.

Correct, the field priority does not have any D365 logic as far as I know , but it allows you to manage manually the sequence .

You can use the data entity batch order ( or work order )  to mass update the field and assign the priority (but orders will need to be in status created) unless you customize the data entity

    Regarding your request

Also on the scenario where current production orders are running but i have to accommodate a new production order coming with very high priority?

you can reschedule manually that order

Please have a look at job scheduling and parameters per order; then sorting.
