Hi,

When you look through this link /https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/certifications/exams/mb-920//
you'll see that it covers the following topics:
1. D365FO
2. D365 finance
3. D365 SCM
4. D365 Commerce
5. D365 Human resources
6. D365 Project operation

a. My question is, are 2,3,4,5,6 part of D365FO (1)? i mean maybe based on licenses only finance appear or only human resources appear OR are they separate products?
b. Because for example i know that inside  D365FO there is part for human resources, but maybe D365FO human resources is another product with advanced functionality?
c. But if you go to LCS to create a project, you'll only find D365FO and commerce -- so it seems at least commerce is a separate product and D365FO maybe doesn't contain anything about commerce
d. wasn't there sth about D365 talent before? isn't this HR?

    Hi,

Trying to answer your follow up questions as Komi already provided valuable insights here.

    1. All applications are in the code base, they will be enabled by licenses. If a customer only buys HR, then Finance and other apps are not available. If there are multiple licenses acquired, a user will be assigned to a license and will get the related security roles in the application.

    2. As per my understanding if a user has HR only, then the title will show as Human Resources.

    3. Dynamics 365 F&O does contain headquarters functionality. To be able to use channel software, like POS, and a website, there are other software components to be deployed at e.g. the local stores.

    4. This is off-topic for this forum, but Business Central is the successor for NAV, like Finance and Operations is the successor for AX.

    5. Yes, but there is also a Customer Engagement part of Project Operations (Lite deployment). The Project operations feature in F&O is intended for stocked and manufacturing scenarios.

    Hi Komi,

    1. so for question "a" -- it's based on Licenses?  and if yes how do i request that I only want to see HR for eaxmple?

    2. and if I only want HR, this name will be replaced with Human resources?

    3. and for question "c" -- when you say standalone module(App) do you mean power apps?  and what is the difference between commerce inside FO and the standalone app?

    4. Is dynamics NAV same as  business central?

    5. Does D365FO contain all of the 5 (Finance, SCM, HR, Commerce and Project operations)?

Yes, they are all part of F&O

    b. Because for example i know that inside  D365FO there is part for human resources, but maybe D365FO human resources is another product with advanced functionality?

There used to be D365 Human resources standalone. But this has been discontinued and merged with F&O

    c. But if you go to LCS to create a project, you'll only find D365FO and commerce -- so it seems at least commerce is a separate product and D365FO maybe doesn't contain anything about commerce
Commerce is part of F&O and also has a standalone module (App).

    d. wasn't there sth about D365 talent before? isn't this HR?
    I believe I answered that in b.
