Hi there, I really has a problem in the both master plan scheduling and forecast scheduling. the error message is: item number:xxx dimension no:xxx Number: xxxx Mandatory coverage dimension site not specified. Cannot create a record in Planned order(ReqPO), The corresponding AOS validation failed. Coverage planning of item xx has been canceled. Do you all have any idea how to solve this? Please help (Y_Y). Hi,

    1. Is Inventory Management --> Item Details --> Item --> Setup --> Item Coverage --> is it setup?

    2. Is a default setup for the master plan?

    3. Install a client debugger, activate the server to allow debugging and run a debug to get more info on the error (of course you do this in a beta environment.

    4. Wait till somebody else replies who fixed this issue.

I believe that this is telling you that the item record is missing the site designation.  Inventory Site can be found at Item Details, Setup, Default Item Settings.  There is a setting for each tab.  If you do not want your master planning to use the site dimension when planning, go to the Inventory Management, Setup, Inventory Dimension Groups and uncheck the column for item coverage by site for each dimension.

Thank you for you all. First, I did check all set up about coverage like - inventory> coverage code - Master plan> Parameter> coverage code - Inventory> set up button> item coverage and all look fine. However, I have this fixed by our programmer but so sorry that i couldn't share because they didn't tell me how to solve it and I think that this was a mistake by them. Have you all a nice one! Thanks again

We were seeing the same AOS validation error for BOM type item. The erorr was actually for the BOM line and it was sayign mandatory warehouse not specified.

We had both site & whse as mandatory dimensions. Both were also turned on for coverage planning. The BOM line had workcenter consumption turned on and no warehouse was specified.

We had routes without a workcenter on the line. We also had some item without a route behind them. The coverage group setting was still calling for a production order.

Hope this will help for people who see the problem again.

Inventory Management -> Item Details -> Setup -> Site Specific Order Setting

and the check value of Inventory Warehouse, you have to fill that field

Kindly check where used form for that specific item, and make sure WAREHOUSE is defined for all lines.
