Import of .csv with Multi-Select option set data created values in D365

Posted on by 175

I recently imported data from .csv to an environment. Two of the fields were multi-select, so I imported as is shown below in the following examples:

I am noticing now that these fields have added values to the 2 Option Set in D365:

I do not need these values to show in the Option Set.  What is the fix for this?  I do not want to delete the values as obviously there is data that references them.

Any assistance is helpful, thanks.

Thank you sir.  I was able to fix this data by taking the following steps:

"Export to Excel" from All Contacts View as Dynamic Worksheet with only 2 columns (Service Line, Work Type)

Remove " from all data in Worksheet (find and replace)

    Save Worksheet

    "Import  from Excel"

    Select File

Ignore all other fields, Map 2 fields above

MAKE SURE Service Lines and Work Types match from source to target

    Import

Delete additional OS values in Prod

    Verify Data

    Hi,

The reason these values getting created in Multi select option field is when you import records and do the mapping of field, CRM will ask to you to either ignore optionset field values or create new whatever coming from source.

Since you have not selected ignore option so by default system created this values.
