Apply Sales Documents

I am trying to apply a couple payments and credit memos to clean up our AR trial balance. However, when I go into the Apply Sales Document window and change the 'apply date' and the 'apply posting date' to 12/31/13 there is no 'post' option so I click OK at the top of the window. I figure that would be sufficient to apply the payment as of 12/31/13 but it still shows up on the trial balance.

Any ideas?

Are you running a Trial Balance option that allows you to exclude fully paid documents?

Unmark the option Fully paid documents in Trail Balance option window before printing the report.

You need to MARK (Not un-mark) the fully paid documents, as the option EXCLUDES the marked options. Also if you are using Historical Aging Report, make sure that your age as of date is later to the Dec 31, 2013 (apply date).

I have this same issue.  I have checked ( and unchecked ) the box as described below.  Unchecking the box is clearly not the right answer.

We ARE marking the box to exclude, and I also ran the report as of 1/1/14 just to see if that would make a difference, which it did not.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

    Thanks

Did I read this correctly, you are trying to post a document already posted?  The Apply sales documents takes posted documents and allows you to associate them so invoices are paid off by payments recorded.

Now, as for the fully paid document removal, have you run the Paid Transaction Removal?  Most firms want fully paid transactions to remain in the open tables until the next statement cycle.  After the statement is printed showing the invoices and which payments were applied (in case the customer wanted them applied a different way) then the Paid Document Removal will take these transactions to history.

I think Richard may have hit the answer. If you do not want it to appear on the trial balance, you have to get it out of the Open table. Run the paid transaction removal routine to move those fully applied documents to history.

    Kind regards

    Hi All,

I have a similar problem. There is definitely an invoice that is partially applied to a payment. I want to write off the remaining amount ($0.30) but I can't see it in the "Apply Sales Documents" option at all because the Transaction Removal has been performed. Any ideas how can this be fixed?

    Thanks a lot!

    How about this:

Go to your Cash Receipts Entry screen but don’t enter any Amount for the payment.  Go directly to the Apply button and there you will the open invoice to which you can apply your write off.

    Hope that helps.
