How to properly monitor Dynamics CRM Online for queue actions?

Hi there,

One question to the CRM pros here regarding queues and all the ways to rule them. How do you monitor them? I mean, if rules are newly created you probably don't just use them by good will!? Is it all workflows at the end? A question maybe more about how to monitor workflows than?

Any hint/help is really appreciated!

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks Rajkumar for trying to help, but I doubt this might help me. The article is talking about monitoring while an item already is created in the queue. But what I'm looking for is a way to monitor the primary rules (like auto creation).

As an example: Suppose I have a queue for my inbox for all mails coming in. Now I add to this primary queue some rules. Later on I notice mails are coming into the system, but are not landing inside the queue. If I deactivate the rules, they do. So what possibility is there for monitoring such things?! I would have some ideas on server side, but as because it's CRM Online I have to use onboard tools and don't know yet everything in detail.

    Update

Before I forgot to say: Of course I'm aware about the warnings inside mailbox and queue entities. But they state something would have been send to the mailbox owner which does not happen. At least I don't receive any information anywhere.

Finally I found the correct way for trouble shooting:

Go to Settings -> System Jobs and filter for Workflows. System Job Name will be the name of the workflow.

After that the detailed action that was triggered of this rule will follow. If there's nothing at all to see (might take a few minutes) than the rule usually is not set for the source item type that you try to work on. If only the rule is show, but no detail action, it means that the conditions in the detail action did not returned "true".

In both cases (having one or both of these) you can click on the workflow name and follow there to get the details if and why something went wrong (state "Failed")

Additional hint: If you have many workflows filter for the "last X hours" where X=1 of column "Started On" to only see the latest actions (also helpful if you want to see what else gets triggered and not filtering for workflows only).
