Hello
i have requirement when user qulify lead,the Lead Status = Contacted (Must be Contacted prior to Qualification)
i have achieve this through plugin but after:
abc(lookup) contains data (abc field is optional at Lead Save, but Required at Qualification)
i don't know how this i can implement.

You should use pre-validation plugin to make validation on lead qualify button.
Inside plugin you could check if status is New and through the exception.
Else you can call js function on lead qualify button to validate lead qualification with message alert.

As Goutam suggested, you can call the plugin on the lead qualification. There is a separate plugin message for lead qualification. Take a look at the post below on how to achieve this.
The other option as previously mentioned is modifying the ribbon qualify command and having call your own custom script prior to calling the regular OOB script. return true if can qualify or false if cannot qualify.
I would go with the plugin logic as shown in the blog post above.

Is there any reason you are not to using plugin for your scenario? In this scenario best options is plugin although.
