After installing feature pack 1.0 for RMS v2.0, I get errors both at headquarter and store operations administrator while upgrading the database from 2.0 to 2.02. (pls find the attached)

ERROR WHILE DATABASE UPGRADE IN STORE OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR.

ERROR WHILE DATABASE UPGRADE IN HEADQUARTERS ADMINISTRATOR.

I did try it first on my laptop and it worked perfectly fine. But when I tried doing it on the production server it failed. So now in HQ i cannot do anything and in store I have reverted back to the older version. But it did work in 2 stores.

Pls advise on the fix/solution. I tried searching it on the knowledge base but unfortunately no solutions.

    Bassam,

    Backup First

First, run a database check and then a re-index in SO/HQ Admin.  Hopefully when you run the check, it will give you a log file that you can determine the error in what table.

Next, we recommend to our clients to stay away from the FP. There are just too many bugs in it.

RMS SP4 will be released next month to resellers to test.  Maybe the SP will fix the FP issues.

Thanks Jeff. But I have tried re-indexing but still the error exists. And moreover when installation of FP was tried in 2 other stores, it worked absolutely perfectly. and those 2 stores are running on those newer versions now.

Is there any other solution/fix ??

Notice I said running a database Check too.  Try the re-index first and then run a Check.  A Check looks for damaged info and will generate a log file of what issues you may have.

This error often occurs when using SQL Server 2000.  Feature Pack 1 is not supported on SQL Server 2000.

The way to fix this is to upgrade the SQL.  If you are using Express you can either re-install RMS after removing SQL and go through the install which includes the install for SQL Server 2005 Express.

Or you could install the SQL Server Express (2005, 2008, and 2008 R2 are all supported) from the Microsoft website.  This would allow you to keep the SQL Server 2000 without needing to un-install it.
