Web Services API - Changes on page updates

Posted on by 32
Hi, We have exposed the Cash receipt Journal page as a web service and use the API to automate the posting of payments. In the scenario ( say in the future) where Microsoft upgrades or changes this page (Cash receipt journal page) , does it affect the web service API? Will the changes get automatically reflected in the webservices API or are any changes required from our end?

The answer is yes, because you used a standard page. If the standard page is modified, the page in the Web Service will also be modified. This includes fields, logic, whether the page is still used, etc.

    Thanks.

If they are only making changes to the page then you will be fine, as the web services make use of the page. The changes should be reflected.

    Hi,

That depends on what Microsoft changes.

I would recommend developing a custom API Page so that it does not have impact with Microsoft changes.

    Hi
Most changes are notified by Microsoft through these deprecation pages.

In any case, you will also be able to see the details of what has changed in this repository, and you will be able to analyze what you would or would not be missing in your development for it to work properly.
