NAS Caching Data?

Hi,

We have a NAV2009R2 NAV environment, where users are using Classic clients instead of RTC. And this environment has 3 separate companies setup.

There is a process that downloads summarized GL Entries every night, by running custom Report through NAS for each company. But we've identified that this is only working for 1 out of 3 companies.

If I manually execute the Report object it downloads the latest data, but unless I restart NAS, NAS downloads a data that is not up-to-date.

Since this issue is only happening to 2 out of 3 NAS instances, I'm not too sure if this is something to do with having multiple NAS installation, or some configuration.

I'd greatly appreciate if anyone can shed some line on this issue that I'm experiencing right now.

Kenji

    RE: NAS Caching Data?

If you are using RTC also NAV 2009 R2 has the CustomSettings.config file.

The problem is that the parameter CacheSynchronizationPeriod will not be recognized since has been introduced in NAV 2013, therefore the solution is to use SELECTLATESTVERSION command.

    Roberto,

    Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately the link is dead, and I couldn't confirm, but since the NAV version is NAV2009R2 and does not have CustomSettings.config, I don't think this would work for us. (Unless I'm missing the file)

    Thank you

    RE: NAS Caching Data?

    hi,

look at this post, may be useful because related to this topic: "having multiple NAS installation issues"

    www.mibuso.com/.../viewtopic.php;t=64841

add and use use this key on service configuration file (CustomSettings.config)

    <add key="CacheSynchronizationPeriod" value="0:00:30" />

You can not set this parameter with the Management Console. More info: msdn.microsoft.com/.../librar ... 0(v=nav.71).aspx

Solved in NAV 2013..NAV 2016 by multi-nas native different technology.

Thank you so much for the feedback.

I'll give this code a try and see if this will resolve the problem, or not.

    RE: NAS Caching Data?

    We experienced the same problem.

A Codeunit run in Job Queue via NAS didn't retrieve the latest data.

We solved it by using the SELECTLATESTVERSION command at the beginning of our code.
