There is also Changer from Corporate Renassiance Group (www.crgroup.com). Same price, been around a lot longer and is a bit more flexbile and intuitive. Now if you have absolutely no history for one vendor or the other you could delete the vendor with no activity.
The only way is to get the Professional Services Tool called Changer and use the merge function. Basically Changer goes in and finds all the transactions in the system on the A/P tables and changes the VendorID on the transactons on all the subledger and General Ledger areas that it exists.
Other wise, you need to go in and make sure that you hit every table that could possibly have the information stored. Which includes the Vendor Master, the Work tables, the open tables, the check tables and of course the GL tables that are recording the Vendor ID as well. Can it be done, yes, is it a pain in the neck, yes, is it recommended that you go in and do this on your own: NEVER.
The tool is not all that expensive and well worth having. I think it is $750.00 and then you aren't messing around with database tables.
