Integration Manager 16 crashes on Run

Dear Support,

I've spent over a week now trying to solve this issue, but was unable to find any solution.

The following is the scenario:

I have a Windows Domain Admin User, and I run GP 2016 (v16.00.0582) as "sa". I then open the Integration Manager (v16.00.0406) externally from the GP Folder, and run an Integration. Everything works as intended.

Now, I have another user who's the Local administrator (I've also provided all windows permissions to this user as the above user).
I log into windows with this user, open GP as administrator, log into GP using "sa", and then open my Integration Manager externally and run an Integration. The window hangs for about 15-20 seconds and crashes.

The only error I find is in the event viewer, as below:

Faulting application name: Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.IntegrationManager.exe, version: 16.0.406.0, time stamp: 0x571c7b32

Faulting module name: msjetoledb40.dll, version: 4.0.9801.0, time stamp: 0x596f958c

Exception code: 0xc00000fd

Fault offset: 0x0003e947

Faulting process id: 0x2dd0

Faulting application start time: 0x01d4741bd1e95bd3

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\Integration Manager 16\Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.IntegrationManager.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\msjetoledb40.dll

Report Id: 13bb1def-9e38-47ad-82bd-ce0a5423b39a

Faulting package full name:

Faulting package-relative application ID:

I've have tried multiple solutions, including a similar bug reported earlier, i.e, to disable all GP widgets, especially "Connect". I've done so, but the error still stays.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the customer with this issue has requested urgent support.

Thank You!

Regards,
- veggiedude

    Have you tried:

    1) Logging in as the local admin user but running GP and IM as Administrator

    2) Logging in as the local admin and running GP and IM as this local administrator

    3) Uninstalling GP and IM and install both outside of the C:\Program Files (x86) folder

I have always ran both GP and IM as the same user. Installing outside of C:\Program Files (x86) folder frees you of the confines of Windows security.

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply! I've earlier tried the points mentioned, and below were the results.

    1) Logging in as the local admin user but running GP and IM as Administrator

This one works. The Administrator here is the Domain admin.

    2) Logging in as the local admin and running GP and IM as this local administrator

This one does not work. The Administrator here is the local administrator.

    3) Uninstalling GP and IM and install both outside of the C:\Program Files (x86) folder

I have not tried to uninstall GP because this issue is on the live environment of the customer, so I didn't want to cause any other problems there.

But are you sure reinstalling may be the solution? Because I believe since Integration Manager already works flawlessly with one user (Domain Admin), reinstalling may not help? Maybe it something from GP's or Window's permissions for Integration Manager?

There is some security issue going on here. Have you given full rights to non-admins to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics folder? GP and IM need to be run as the same user. Have you tried running both GP and IM as the same local admin?

Yes, the non-Domain User has full Admin access, and is the Poweruser in windows. I've also provided full rights for this user specifically on the GP Folder and Integration Manager folder as you suggested.

And yep, the GP and IM are run by the local admin. Still no luck :(

Under Tools->User Preferences->Window Command Display do you have it set to Menu Bar? Are both users running this on the same computer? Have you tried running the integration from a command line not from within IM?

Do you have your IMD database in a network location? Try moving it local, the fact that this only works for Domain Admins makes me think it's less of a local permission error and more of a global connection error?

On this note, is your source file somewhere else? Try moving that local too as a test.

Do you get the same error when running one of the sample integrations as the 'broken' user account?

Are there any scripts on the integration? Perhaps those are where the hang is coming from.
