On-Premise migration of localizations

Posted on by 289
Hi all,
We have a customer who is currently running on Business Central W1 on-premise (v18). Now, they would like to split the companies in different databases due to different localisations they need example; Latvia and UK i.e. ultimately they're going to end up with 3 databases as follows;

- W1
- UK
- LV

How does one migrate a company that is currently in the W1 database and move it to the UK / LV database? Ideally this shouldn't be a new implementation with opening balances as we're trying to move the company with all of it's data to the new localisation.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

    As far as I know, Microsoft has not provided a tool for switching between localization versions. Including the Copy environment feature and Transfer environments between Microsoft Entra tenants feature in the SaaS version , they must be the same version.
    As you know, in the On-Pre version, the installation packages of these versions are different. If they are all W1 versions, it can be solved, but these are different standard codes.
    Maybe there is a simple method within Microsoft. You can submit an SR to the support team and ask.
    But as far as I know, there is no good way except manual movement.

    Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.

    Thanks.
