Dispatch Dates in AX 2012 R3

I'm trying to link a sales line in AX with the date and time the item was dispatched to a customer.

I've found various tables with dispatch dates and similar but I can't find one with the actual time.

Is there a table in AX that holds the date and time an item was actually dispatched to a customer and if so how can I link it back to a sales line?

Regards

Wiltchy

    Hi Wiltchy,

What activity in AX corresponds with the actual time that you wish to report?

    Posting packing slip/delivery note?

Or, if you're using Warehouse management:

    Confirming the shipment?

    Driver check out?

To know which table is, you should be define in which process is the dispatched to a customer, for example, actually you can know when was create a packing slip in table custpackingsliptrans, this table has a CreatedDateTime field with date and time.

    Hi

There is one ship date on Sales order that will overide the actual packing slip date. That will help you I think.

    Hi Guy

It's the time the sale line was sent to the customer - so the time it left the warehouse.

    Hi Adineh

Yes the ship date isn't at the level we need. Because we can send sales lines separately we need to be able to report when each line was dispatched to the customer.

Yes, but if I walk into your warehouse, take something off the shelf and walk out the door, AX doesn't know about that. What happens in AX (to tell it that something has been sent to the customer) at the time you wish to report?

    Hi All

Thanks for your suggestions. Whilst each one was valid is wasn't quite the answer I was looking for as we were trying to get the details at sales line level.

After much further digging and investigation I was able to find a link to the CustPackingSlipTrans table, the date and time this was created is essentially the dispatch date as it is created when the operator hits the dispatch button.

This also leads back to the InventTrans table via the InventTransId. This then also gave us the full picture of the state of the salesline as a sales line itself could have multiple dispatches if the quantities had split shipments. So we can now get the dispatched quantity and picked quantity of the sales line and even those waiting on back order.

Thanks again, I appreciate all your times on this.

** As an addendum to this, Yered I just noticed in your post you mentioned CustPackingSlipTrans, apologies for not recognising this in my reply as it turned out that was the right table. Thanks again.
