Importing historic data into Business Central
Business Scenario is we want to migrate last 3 years of Sales Orders. Purchase Orders, etc into Business Central from the old ERP system.
Plus in flight items...
One scenario is - Sales team will want to view via D365 Sales to Biz Central and see customer history of Orders, deliveries, invoices, etc
Any discussion threads on this issue?
Assuming we use Biz Central templates - how are the previous records treated?
There are several different ways you can achieve this.
The obvious option is to import the old sales invoices and purchase invoices into the standard BC tables and you can use configuration packages for that.
But if i should do this I would most likely create customized table to import the historical data into BC so I can separate the old data from the new orders created in BC.
If you are integrating BC to D365 sales you also then have the choice of having your historical order data only in Dataverse instead of having them in Business Central at all.
