Dynamics GP Budget Issue: Budget Import from excel not recognizing existing accounts in GP

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by 60

Operating in GP 2010 with SP 2.

Importing excel budgets into GP using the Budget Wizard two issues arise that I can't figure out :

After running the export to compare to the import file I've noticed the following:

1) For some reason some select accounts, that I have verified exist and are active in GP, do not seem to upload from the excel import [ I'm using the template from prior year although accounts have changed according so I hope this crosses off the template being an issue ]

2) The accounts that do upload properly appear to be a mix match of inactive accounts and active accounts, thus making it hard for me to understand what the issue might be.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for your help in advance!

    Hi Terry,

Try exporting a blank budget - and copy in the values from your existing budget spreadsheet...and then reimporting. Do you still get the same errors?

    Ian,

Thanks for the help! Getting closer but for some reason my Revenue accounts do not want to upload and I have verified them active? I also have the occasional expense account that does not want to upload as well.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Terry,

Nothing springs to mind. I would start with a check links against the Financial master tables - to rule out anything there. I would take one of the accounts that gets rejected and try and manually add it to the budget in GP. Then I would check the format of the relevant field in the XL sheet against the same field for a line that imports fine. I might then save the XL budget as a CSV file and open it - check one of the troublesome accounts and see if it looks different to one of the good ones.

After that, I don't know. One of those issues where you would need to be looking at the system!!

Post after you try the above.

    Ian.
