Hi,

I have exported Dynamics 365 CRM Data to an Azure Database using Data Export Service solution by generating an Azure KeyVault URL.But, what i found resulting data a little complex to understand.

My requirement was still fulfilled but i want to know is there any other way that can export Online 365 CRM Data to external Azure DB in easily understandable format?

Thanks,

    Hi,

That's the only supported way to replicate data from CRM to Azure DB. When you export, it creates the table for each entity with the configured field. You should be able to query the table pretty easily. whats not working or complex?

I mean will it be necessary that the data export service do export the metadata along with it to Azure db ?

Yes, data export services do export metadata changes to the azure db. Read more about it here:

    blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../introduction-to-dynamics-365-data-export-service

    docs.microsoft.com/.../mt744592(v=crm.8)

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

SCRIBE also provides replication services, which does the similar thing. It  provides a robust and easy-to-use tool that makes a copy of data in your CRM Online organization and syncs that data to an on-premises database that you have full control over. I am not very sure whether it provides conditional entitywise sync or not.

If you just want to sync few entities then Microsoft Flow or Azure LogicApps could be a good solution. They provide connectors for Dynamics and Azure SQL server. I have implemented Azure LogicApps to sync my contact data. Although flow was one way. Contacts gets created in CRM, LogicApp workflow triggers and data flows to SQL server.

    Thanks for the reply guys.

One more clarification that i need is when i exported Online 365 Data to Azure , it doesn't have any option to select specific fields to be exported..Only entities were required to be selected.. Can i export specific fields of my choice of specific entities using Data Export Service?

Initially I thought we can select fields as well but looking into it now, we can't unfortunately.

I think any type of filtering be it vertical or horizontal, are not allowed in DataExport Services. So effectively selective rows and columns are out of question. It will sync data as a whole. And beware if you delete record from azure DB I think it will be deleted from CRM as well (you may want to double check that).

And what if i really wish to export the data using filtering of some specific entities and that too specific fields in those entities, how may i do that ?

    Any idea?

That's what is suggested above that it is not possible with data export services.
