Missing Datasets

Posted on by 12

Hi.

I'm using Microsoft BI to pull data from Business Enterprise (Online).

Question, are there parts of Business Central that BI cannot access, in particular SALES ORDER ARCHIVE or FIRM PRODUCTION ORDERS?

    RE: Missing Datasets

    Hi

You need to publish those pages in Web Service. This is an example for Sales Order Archive. Go to Sales Order Archive Card then use Alt+Ctrl+F1 (page inspection) then take a note of Page Number (5159 in this case). You also need to click on line to get page number for that as well (5160)

Then go to Web Service page, click New , select Page and enter this page number. Then define the name (no space) and publish. After that you can see it in Power BI.

Note: you may need to publish Archive header (5159) and archive line (5160).

    I hope this help

You can access any BC data from Power BI but not all data are exposed by standard API's or webservices.

So you might have to publish a custom API or a webservice for the data you want to report in Power BI that is not covered by the standard published webservices or API's.
