GP 2013 Issue Components to Manufacturing Order

After opening and releasing an MO our physical process is to retrieve the items on the Pick List from our stock room and physically move them to the assy line.

To account for this physical move we do a material transaction to move the site & bin location. However this method does not tie the actual quantities taken from the stockroom to the MO#.

It seems to me there should be a way to "issue" the material to the specific MO. I also can see a field in the PickList table labeled "Qty Issued". How does this field get populated?

The items on the Pick List are allocated when MO is Released but our team cannot see how to then "Issue" the actual items against that specific MO.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

    Hi Duffy,

To issue/reverse issue parts to the MO, you need to use the Component Transaction Entry screen.  It's available from the Go To menu of the MO Entry or the Picklist screen.  The help screen will give you all the details of how to use the screen, but basically youl enter, print and save the transaction.  Then pull and deliver the parts.  Then adjust the bin as necessary and post the transaction.  This will move the inventory into WIP and you'll see it in the order variance inquiry window for the MO.  Be sure you don't have the items marked to backflush if you are processing in this way.  Good luck and let us know if you need more detail.
