Hi Expert,

Im new in Navision. My company is using Navision 2017.

I have question regarding reservation.

Is it possible we do reserve on sales line by job queue ?

The reason is the SO we did the reserve, when we are creating warehouse shipment partially then posted. The reservation on SO is deleted.

Its hard for user have to back to the SO and make the reservation again.

I having this idea to accomodate the user forget to re-reserve.

Let me know if any another solution.

thank you

Hi, sorry I haven't tested it in detail, can you try the settings below?

If that doesn't work, I think you need to customize a Report or Codeunit and set it to the Job Queue.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

    Hi Yun Zhu,

    Thank you for your assistance.

I have tried but it was not re-reserve from Warehouse Shipment after i posted.

This setup, its working when we input the sales order.

anyway thank you so much your advice, it's new insight for me.

    thank you

    Raimun,

As Yun noted, no need for a Job Queue as you can set the Item Card (Reserve = ALWAYS) and Customer Card = Reserve = ALWAYS so the reservation occurs at time of entry. I did have a customer with very specific reservation rule and allocations and that required a customization. I think basic reservation setup will help.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steven,

    thank you for your response.

The issue is not when we create the sales order but when we posted warehouse sales shipment.

I will try to explain with example.

Below the screenshot i created Sales Order then reserved the quantity using auto reserve function.

    20220225001.png

Then i do the Whs Shipment with qty to ship only 1.

    20220225002.png

My understanding is the reserved should be remaining 9 on Sales Order. But when i open the Sales Order, the reserved is deleted.

    This is what i mean.

I have tried to using as Yun noted but It did not solve. That's why i was thinking create one job to re-reserve this remainin 9 qty.

If you have any others way, let me know. I will consider it.

    thank you

    Raimun,

I just tested this myself in CRONUS the exact example you did and mine works:

    pastedimage1646071712560v1.png

My location is Require Shipment, Bin Mandatory, no Pick.

Have you tested this in CRONUS?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steven,

I just tried it in CRONUS and the result was exactly as you described.

Suprising me. Is it possible because I'm using lot no, the reserved was gone ?

    Now I'm confusing.

    thank you

    Raimun,

I used Lot Number in my testing, as you noted in your example. If CRONUS works as you expected then I look to what customizations have been added that effect NAV. Do you know of any touching the Post Shipment function?

You can always ask your Partner to debug the process and trace why the reservations deleted themselves.

    Thanks,

    Steve
