actually it's the same, you can still use CrmServiceClient, maybe you will need to use an older version of the SDK libraries. You will need to setup the connection string accordingly, and if connecting outside of the network where the onpremise resides, you need to look at ADFS configuration and make sure the onpremise is reachable from outside its network.

Hello,
Steps to Follow:
1. Dont install SDK from Nuget Packages
2. Navigate to your Server --> open IIS --> Open Folder Where CRM is Installed --> Open Bin Folder --> Copy the SDK from there
3. Use Add Existing dll.
This will 100% help you the same
