    Hi..

I think there is a problem in the follow the sequence.

Please refer below link for more information about create Drop purchase order for shipment directly.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh173615(v=nav.71).aspx

    Please note that:

The sales order line on the sales order must have a purchasing code of Drop Shipment.

If item tracking was assigned on the corresponding sales order, the Get Sales Order function will also copy the item tracking lines to the newly-created purchase order. To view them, on the Lines FastTab, choose Actions Action Menu icon, choose Line, and then choose Item Tracking Lines.

You cannot post a drop shipment order that has item tracking unless item tracking is synchronized. Serial numbers and lot numbers must be the same between the two related orders.

    Regards,

    Saurabh Shah

problem is that there is nothing to reserve as i need to order them first and they will be dropped shipped.... even though i choose drop ship and select an order it just will not allow it.. gives me the same error as posted earlier....

Or do i have to put in stock first and then reserve, but then that will be wrong as i still wait for confirmation goods are sent, till i get the confirmation i do not want to put in stock, incase supplier cannot deliver...

So how to do reserve a drop shipment...

    Hi,

To reserve the purchase line item to sales order item it is necessary that purchase line expected receipt date should be earlier then the sales order shipment date.

To more information about how to do reservation from purchase order. please follow below link:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh174813(v=nav.71).aspx

Ask us if you need any more details.

    Hi,

DROP SHIPMENT functionality is used when there is a direct supply from Vendor to customer and we are just making the sales invoice and purchase invoice for booking only.

In your case, if you just want to tag the purchase order or reserve the purchase item against the sales order then I suggest to user reservation functionlaty from the sales line function.

Let me know if you looking at something else.  provide some more details so we can help on it.

    Regards,

    Saurabh Shah
