We are an Australian based business with all our customers and revenue in the USA . Our USA business used Business Central so we migrated to BC in Australia . We apparently needed a new separate local Tenant so we now Login separately to our US and Australian business. We continue to have issues with Logging in .
How do we take control of the Administration of the domain login in Australia , it is a .onmicrosoft.com domain rather than our own . In other words we can't receive emails etc for password resets etc .
Jet Reports was the driver to have all our corporate entities on BC but given our access issues , I can't understand why we can't have Australian companies in our US tenant . What do other Global BC users do ?
Needless to say , Support is sadly lacking Down Under .
What we do with our international customers is to purchase licenses for additional environments in their "home" or global tenant.
That way they can run different localizations of Business Central in the same Azure AD tenant.
Have you checked if that is a possibility for you?
Thanks for your replies . It turns out that we have " reseller " version of Business Central not the AU Public version . So we have to use a separate tenant in Australia . We have sorted out our Admin and logging in issues . Progress at last .
In answer to your question why you might not want to host your Australian companies in your US tenancy, the recording and reporting of GST is going to be an issue. Australian/New Zealand tenancies have additional tables and fields to simplify the GST collection, calculation and reporting. GST has been added as a localisation for AU and NZ, it is more extensive than what you get in the UK when handling VAT.
I do wonder if you get another Production environment added to your US tenancy where the existing one is a US deployment and the other Production environment is an AU deployment. This type of scenario is probably possible but then the question of who supports you becomes a factor, is the US support partner going to support you on a AU environment or visa versa. Good luck with this from Perth, WA:)
Hi,
In order to change the passwords for users you can go to site below and sign in as an administrator for your onmicrosoft.com domain
Microsoft 365 admin center - Home
You can then go to Users and change passwords, add users etc.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Gavin
